sScale is a system for automated measurement of stacks of wood. It is a system that operates on entire stacks of wood situated in the forest or at wood storage facilities. sScale is mounted on a car or on a forest machine and it is operated from a computer. sScale produces a list of features as for example, stack ID, species, volume percentage, mean diameter, diameter distribution and other size measures such as net and gross volume of the individual stacks at an accuracy in the order of 2%. sScale replaces semi-automated and manual measurement practices.
